Investment calculators for South Africa

An investment calculator, a compound interest calculator and a TFSA calculator, each showing the answer and the assumptions behind it. There is no fund, policy or platform on the other side of the result, because TradeIntel is an information publisher, not a financial services provider, and has nothing to sell you at the end.

Why these are different

Most South African calculators are run by a fund manager, an insurer or a tax filing service. The calculator is the top of a funnel and the answer is shaped to end in that company’s product: a higher return assumption here, a hidden fee there, a call to action underneath.

TradeIntel has no product to sell you at the end. The inputs are yours, the statutory figures are quoted with their source and date, and fees are shown as the separate number they are. The same desk publishes the JSE today page and a JSE and US share screener, which is where the calculators came from.

  • Every assumption is visible and editable
  • Fees are a line, not a footnote
  • SARS limits are enforced in the tool, not in a disclaimer
  • Results in today’s money as well as nominal
  • Copy the full summary, assumptions included

TradeIntel is an information publisher, not a licensed financial services provider. This calculator shows what the assumptions you entered produce. It is general information, not financial advice, and the return figure is your assumption, not ours. Nothing on this page is a forecast.
